About Me
HI!
Hi! I’m Luis.
About me
I was born in Guatemala City and lived there until I was 12, when my family and I moved to Guelph, ON, Canada. Growing up I spent a lot of time biking around, playing basketball and football (or “soccer” for my Canadians out there). Camping trips with family and friends taught me to love nature.
What I always loved the most is learning how things work and how to make them better. Starting with a box of legos, getting my first toolbox when I was 8ish, taking apart small appliances (my parents were not impressed by this), to building my own makeshift “inventions“ from scrap electronic parts and/or found objects. This all culminated in me moving to Ottawa to study Industrial Design at Carleton University.
What I do now
Today, I am a Product Designer working on designing new and innovative experiences. I live in Barcelona, Spain now – my wife and I moved in September 2024 and we are super excited to build our new home here.
Previously, I worked as a Senior Product Designer at Nascent. in Toronto, Canada, working on anything and everything design-related - from B2B marketing websites to consumer-facing apps and web-apps. Before that, I had the chance to work with and collaborate with amazing multi-disciplinary teams at Nulogy, Thinkingbox, and BlackBerry, where I worked on a variety of digital products
What I’m looking for
To work on meaningful and impactful problems with a collaborative and talented group of people. Somewhere where I can push and be pushed to level up our collective problem-solving game.
